Hi3G and Netel sign agreement regarding 3G infrastructure roll-out in Swedendate: January 29, 2002 Hi3G has entered into an agreement with Netel regarding the roll-out of infrastructure for the third-generation mobile telecommunication (3G). The agreement covers the establishment and construction of approximately 250 base stations in Sweden. The agreement with Netel applies to a turnkey contract covering project management, site procurement, project design, construction and telecom installations for at approximately 250 base stations in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. Work has already begun. “This cooperation with Netel is an important part of the rollout of the infrastructure that is needed for Hi3G’s future service offering, says Chris Bannister, CEO Hi3G. “This is yet another milestone in the rollout of the Swedish 3G infrastructure. This agreement with Hi3G strengthens Netel’s position even further on the market, says Erik Salling, CEO Netel.
