Action Engine Software to Enable Enhanced Enterprise Applications for 2.5G and 3G Mobile Devicesdate: January 30, 2002 Action Engine Corporation today announced that it is collaborating with Texas Instruments Incorporated to deliver Action Engine's Mobile Services Framework to provide enhanced informational, transactional and enterprise services on 2.5 and 3G mobile devices using TI's high-performance, power efficient OMAP wireless application processors. Using the Mobile Services Framework, wireless carriers, device OEMs, and system integrators can create compelling wireless data applications and services for both consumers and enterprise users. "Action Engine's client / server approach is an attractive solution for delivering advanced wireless data services on 2.5 and 3G wireless devices that use TI's high performance, ultra-low power OMAP application processors," said Paul Werp, worldwide director of marketing for TI's OMAP platform. "With the Mobile Services Framework running on TI's OMAP processors, mobile device users will have access to applications and services that take advantage of Action Engine's unique smart client/smart server architecture to improve their user experience." For manufacturers developing wireless devices for 2.5 and 3G networks, TI's OMAP processors deliver the optimal performance and power consumption required to rapidly deploy differentiated next-generation products. TI's OMAP processor platform is an open architecture that supports multiple high-level operating systems, allowing a broad range of application developers to write differentiated software for wireless handsets and PDAs. In addition, the OMAP processor platform offers a rich library of standard multimedia APIs and Media Engines, differentiating applications developed on the Action Engine framework with increased performance and functionality.
