Redknee provides 3G multi-SIM solution to O2

January 14, 2004

Redknee, the expert in open architecture wireless solutions, announced the delivery of the Synaxis Multi-SIM integrated network service solution to O2 Germany.

Building on its strong service infrastructure solution base, Redknee unifies the delivery of mobile services (voice, SMS, MMS, USSD and location based services) to multiple devices (SIMs) for one mobile user. Redknee has enabled a new paradigm in mobile service usage, where a mobile user can talk on the phone using one device, while browsing WAP content on a second device and receiving SMS/MMS on the third device. All devices can be profiled and controlled independently through web and device based self-care.

"O2 Germany has taken advantage of Redknee's advanced, high value solution for mobile networks," said Bohdan Zabawskyj, Chief Technology Officer at Redknee. "As requirements for flexibility and innovation in delivery of services and applications increase, it is critical to ensure that network support platforms further leverage and optimize the existing network. Redknee is responding to this need and adding great value to the mobile wireless core service delivery through the Multi-SIM solution."

"Redknee offered a very extendible and scalable solution which could be implemented rapidly, and having open interfaces gives us added flexibility. After evaluating several options, we found that Redknee had the technical skills and experience to tackle and solve the complex integration problems to provide us a full turn key solution," explains Wolfgang Krüger, Director Network Engineering, O2 Germany.

The Redknee Multi-SIM solution (GSM and 3G) is available now for order and timely delivery. The Multi-SIM solution enables real-time unification of multiple devices into a single subscriber profile. This real-time fault-resilient solution is currently being deployed in top tier networks globally.

Redknee's commercially deployed suite of service applications includes Messaging, Mobility, Payment, and Data/Call Control solutions. Redknee solutions integrate seamlessly with existing mobile networks, and accelerate the development and adoption of revenue-generating mobile network services through 3GPP/2 Open Services Access and Open Mobile Alliance Web-Services based architectures.
