NetTest UMTS monitoring system for H3G Italy
January 22, 2004
NetTest, a provider of testing, monitoring and management solutions for advanced and converged networks, announced that H3G in Italy, the Italian Mobile Video Company of the Hutchison Whampoa Group, has entered into an agreement with NetTest for the delivery of a nationwide MasterQuest UMTS network and service monitoring system.
With MasterQuest, H3G will gain unified information about their network, services and customers, allowing them to make the best decisions to improve performance and customer satisfaction and reduce operational costs.
Delivery and implementation of the MasterQuest UMTS solution is under way and includes powerful Key Performance Indicators to help H3G more easily analyze the increasing amount of data generated by their UMTS network, enabling quick and easy identification and isolation of potential network problems with centralized troubleshooting applications.
"Monitoring of the performance and usage of IP based applications such as video calling is critical to ensure end-to-end quality of service for H3G's subscribers" said Jørgen Weber, Vice President and head of the Systems Business Unit at NetTest. "With MasterQuest, we will also help H3G with traffic analysis and performance statistics on roaming traffic to other operators and third party content providers."
