Siemens to supply 3G network in Poland
January 24, 2004
Polish mobile operator, Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, has completed the process of considering and comparing offers for the supply of equipment for the development of 3G network.
After carrying out technical, organisational and economic analysis of bids from companies, Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa has chosen Siemens Polska as the supplier of the advanced UMTS technology which will be implemented as a priority in the Warsaw region. Similar procedures will be applied in the future while choosing suppliers for network development in other cities.
Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa is an operator of the biggest network
of mobile telephony in Poland. It is the only company in Poland
to have presented ready solutions for the 3G telephony already in
2001 and 2002 when it presented successive possibilities of the
UMTS, starting from voice transmission through live video broadcast.
