Vodafone Germany to show RTL romantic comedy on 3G mobiles

January 9, 2005

"Was Sie schon immer über Singles wissen wollten" ("Everything you ever wanted to know about singles") - Vodafone customers in Germany will be the first to know! This is because, on January 11, 2005, the Dusseldorf-based mobile telecommunications company's 3G customers have the chance to experience the promisingly-titled RTL romance on their 3G mobiles - a world premiere on two counts: Vodafone, in cooperation with RTL, will become the first German mobile telecommunications company to show a complete feature film on 3G mobiles via Vodafone Mobile TV. Not only that, this will be one day before the film is broadcast on television. The light-hearted study about single life is starting on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 12:00 p.m., and will be repeated every 90 minutes until Wednesday evening. All you have to do is to click on the "RTLmobile Movie" channel on the Vodafone live! portal and you can enjoy TV on the move and without any additional costs.

Flirt chats, blind dates and dream men and women: the subject and plot of the RTL comedy about relationships which was produced in 2004 promise plenty of fun, situational comedy and heartbreak, with actors such as the Tatort (German TV detective series) performers Oliver Bootz or Chiara Schoras providing top-class entertainment. The plot goes like this: Tina Lenz, an ambitious work experience trainee, would like to go far in the advertising industry. From the secure position of someone in a steady relationship, she plans to impress her boss with an authentic documentary about singles. But then her boyfriend leaves her and she finds herself on her own... an emotional rollercoaster ride begins, and Vodafone customers with a 3G mobile can experience all this during the mobile preview on January 11 and 12, 2005.

With a full-length feature film broadcast to mobiles via UMTS, the Vodafone Mobile TV offering is entering a new dimension. The rapid data transfer method enables not only short videos or film trailers to be viewed on a mobile, but also full-length films.

The film will be shown a total of 14 times on the Vodafone live! portal. The first showing will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 12 p.m. "Was Sie schon immer uber Singles wissen wollten" will be repeated automatically every 90 minutes until 9:00 p.m. The transmission times on January 12 are as follows: 10:00, 11:30, 16.00, 17.30 and 19.00. The film, which was made by RTL, will then be shown on free TV at 8:15 p.m.

To watch the comedy on their 3G mobiles, Vodafone customers can select the "Mobile TV + Video" category on the Vodafone live! portal in the usual way and then the new "RTL mobile movie" channel, which has been set up especially for this film.
