3 Sweden deploys ringback tone service

January 30, 2006

Comverse announced that 3 Sweden, owned by Hutchison Whampoa and Investor AB has deployed Fun Dial under the service-name FriendTones to expand their service to include personalized ringback tones.

Fun Dial replaces standard ringing, busy, and call waiting tones with a wide variety of user-selected personalized content, including personal or business messages, music, humor, and sound effects. Users can choose different ringback tone content for individuals and groups of callers. 3 Sweden is using Fun Dial to replace waiting tones for the entire network with 3-branded content to enhance their reputation as a fun and innovative carrier. Subscribers will be able to modify the default ringback tone with the content of their choosing.

"We are all about innovation, fun and adding value and by activating the Fun Dial service with 3-branded music for all our customers, we have really showed this to all Swedish mobile users," said Shlomo Liran CEO at 3 Scandinavia. "We are happy to be a 3G operator that is introducing such a service to the Scandinavian market, and we already see it starting to fulfil its promise of revenue generation and customer satisfaction."

Comverse Fun Dial's complete end-to-end operating environment includes a highly advanced content management platform, as well as an extensive content portfolio, secured through agreements with major international content providers. The platform quickly incorporates new content to take advantage of holidays and important sports and entertainment events. Fun Dial also features full prepaid support and statistical analysis of consumer calling behavior.

"3 Sweden's implementation of ringback tones across their entire network represents a strong endorsement of the Comverse Fun Dial service, and demonstrates the growing popularity of ringback tones," said Gadi Bahat, President of Comverse EMEA. "We welcome 3 Sweden to the growing group of operators who recognize the value of Comverse Fun Dial's technical excellence, features, comprehensive content, and rapid deployment."
