Vodafone Germany to launch Nokia 6234 and Nokia E60 3G phones

The Nokia 6234 and the Nokia E60 are two new UMTS phones for mobile lifestyle and business applications that are joining the Vodafone range. Both models will be launched in the first quarter of 2006.

The Nokia 6234 UMTS phone is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, a QVGA colour display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, a digital music player and stereo speakers. It is an exclusive Vodafone live! phone, which means it offers users full access to the sound experience of the MusicDownload service, which offers a choice of 600,000 songs. Vodafone MobileTV delivers special content for UMTS phones and now has over 20 programmes providing 24-hour information and entertainment. The classically-elegant Nokia 6234 model is a dual-mode/ triband mobile phone for use in the UMTS and GSM 900/1800/1900 networks. Vodafone already offers UMTS network coverage in more than 1700 German towns and cities.

The Nokia E60 UMTS phone supplements and extends the range of classic Nokia business mobiles. It is an efficient communication tool with modern voice functions and outstanding user convenience. Diverse data transfer channels provide secure, fast and flexible local data connections. The phone has excellent display, read and navigate functions for documents, applications and Web content. The S60 platform enables the mobile use of various e-mail and organiser solutions that can be tailored to the customer's needs. For example, the E60 supports Blackberry push e-mail.

The prices of the two new models will be announced when they are launched. Vodafone is also be showcasing a whole host of new UMTS phones, smartphones and PDAs by various manufacturers at CeBIT.
