Hutchison has over 14 million 3G subscribers globally

Dow Jones Newsires reported Hutchison Whampoa has over 14 million 3G mobile subscribers globally.

Chairman of Hutchison Whampoa, Li Ka-shing, was quoted as saying "Despite intense competition in the global 3G arena, we have increased our subscribers worldwide to over 14 million and we are moving towards achieving our operating targets."

On 4th January, Li told Forbes that the 3G operation in the UK was a year behind target and its overall 3G business would be cashflow positive in 2008. However the 3G business is doing well in Hong Kong, Australia and Italy.

Hutchison has 3G operations in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
