LG Starts Fashion for Touch-Screen Phones
January 22, 2007 - source: BWCS
Korean handset vendor LG Electronics has joined forces with fashion brand Prada to produce touch-screen, smart-phone months ahead of the much-trumpeted Apple iPhone, which is due to hit the market later this year.
The new LG Prada phone is designed to appeal to the fashion-conscious consumer and comes with has a single touch-screen, a two-megapixel camera and is just 12mm thick. The phone is icon-based for control, but the screen shuts down to conserve power when not in use presenting a uniformly black exterior. The handset will be available next month at a cost of €600.
The touch-screen phone and stylish look of the handset was apparently developed by Prada, while the rest of the electronics and software comes from LG.
