MobilCom redrawing 3G plandate: July 13, 2001 A spokesman from MobilCom on Friday said, the company is reworking its 3G mobile phone business plan due to a dramatic decline in the market for telecommunications firms, reported by the press. The company wants a better understanding of customers' wishes and loosened regulations on cost sharing. "We are making more specific plans," said a spokesman from the company, adding that the last business plan set broad targets, such as breaking even in 2007 and reaching 11.7 million 3G subscribers by 2010. It also set out plans to go it alone in building a 3G network in Germany. The reworking of the 3G business plan isn't a short-term project and MobilCom is likely to have an "announcement" to make when the plan is finished, the spokesman said. An telecom analyst said he welcomed the news that MobilCom was rethinking its 3G strategy.
