E-Plus and MobilCom could become 3G partnerdate: July 17, 2001 - source: German telecommunications company MobilCom AG is to concentrate on one co-operation partner for the setup of its UMTS network in Germany. According to MobilCom's chairman, the company is conducting negotiations with one network provider and will conclude them in due course. Network providers T Mobile and Viag have entered exclusive negotiations about both common locations and technology. D2 Vodafone has been cautious about possible co-operations. According to MobilCom's chairman, Group 3G is not considered an ideal partner since it has no experience as a network provider in Germany, as is the case with MobilCom. Consequently, only E Plus can be considered a possible co-operation partner. A spokesperson for E Plus has refused to comment.
