Orange Selects Atlys Billing Solution to Support Carrier's UMTS Launchdate: July 25, 2001 - source: Convergys Corporation announced it has signed its first major European Atlys wireless billing contract. The company has licensed its 3G enabled Atlys Billing and Customer Care Solution to Orange France. Convergys will also manage implementation and integration of the Atlys solution. Orange France has more than 15 million subscribers, will use Atlys to sell its future 3G services GPRS and UMTS. The first version of Atlys will be in operation in mid-2002. In addition, Orange France plans to migrate its more than 15 million existing subscribers to the Atlys solution within three years. Convergys' Atlys solution was recognized as the wireless industry's premier billing solution when it received the Billing Excellence Award for Best Wireless Billing Platform at Telestrategies Billing World 2001 Conference & Exhibition in June. We thoroughly examined a number of billing solutions and found the Convergys Atlys solution to be the best solution to support the launch of our new UMTS services, said Didier Quillot, CEO of Orange France. The Atlys solution supports all major mobile network standards, including UMTS, CDMA, TDMA, GSM, and AMPS, in an open, client-server solution capable of supporting over 20 million subscribers in a single relational database.
