EC welcomes 3G infrastructure sharingdate: July 26, 2001 The EC has reacted warmly to plans in Germany and the Netherlands to allow debt-ridden telecommunications operators to share some infrastructure for 3G mobile phones in order to offset the crippling cost of 3G licences. "We are positively open to network sharing," said Erkki Liikanen, telecoms commissioner. "I think there's consensus at the moment. If you can have reasonable solutions where consumers don't suffer, it's okay." read more: click here
