LG Electronics chooses magic4 in EMS partnershipdate: July 2, 2002 magic4 announces a global partnership with LG Electronics, Inc. to incorporate its Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) client into the range of CDMA and 3G handsets manufactured by LG Electronics. Advertisement: Explore Within This Space LGE is one of Korea's largest mobile handset manufacturers, set to export 11 million handsets with an estimated value of $1.7 billion this year alone. To be assured of the latest messaging technology, LGE selected magic4, instrumental in defining EMS release 5 standards, to integrate its EMS client software onto the handsets. "The global wireless market is expected to witness new services such as CDMA2000, 1X EV-DO and W-CDMA in 2002 and LGE aim to be at the forefront of the market. " explains Kim Jong-eun, CEO of the Telecommunication Equipment & Handset Business Division, LG Electronics. "magic4 is the established market leader in the EMS arena and is therefore the perfect partner to deliver the EMS client for our handset range." With the 2002 Football World Cup already underway in Korea and Japan, LGE expects a rise in handsets sales and the use of messaging throughout the summer.
