3UK sell-off half of its Scottish HQ

3UK, the first proper WCDMA 3G operator in Europe plans to sell off almost half its Scottish HQ.

The Estates Gazette, a property industry news supplier reported 3UK, a unit of Hong Kong's Hutchison Whampoa, "wants to sublet 30,000 sq ft of its 72,000 sq ft at 123 St Vincent Street in Glasgow's prime business area."

3UK has instructed Donaldsons to market the two floors of the building, which it acquired at a top Scottish rent of £23.50 per sq ft in 2001.

3UK's Glasgow biggest operations are customer billing and technical support for UK customers.

The news supplier said, "Hutchison made the decision because of difficult trading conditions."
