The news site citing source from a local 3G retailer, Aurora, that BenQ has placed 10,000 units of the cdma2000/1xRTT 3G handsets. The full retail price of the C600 is expected to be US$145.
The handset operates in the CDMA2000 Single Band 800 CDMA PCS with the Qualcomm MSM5105 chipset that offers data speed of up to 153.6kbps.
APBW will be Taiwan's first 3G service provider if it is expected to launch services on July 25 as intended by the company. The company will be using the cdma2000 3G standard instead of the WCDMA 3G standard preferred by its rivals.
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will also be providing cdma2000 3G handsets to APBW.
