Vodafone KK to offer international video calls

July 21, 2005

Vodafone KK announces that from 2 August 2005, customers with video call compatible Vodafone KK 3G handsets will be able to make international video calls from Japan to countries and regions overseas. At the time of launch, customers will be able to place video calls to 6 countries and regions, and Vodafone KK will further expand service areas in the future.

This new international video call service will be offered as an addition to Vodafone KK's

International Call Service menu. Launched in June 2002, Vodafone KK's International Call Service lets customers make voice calls to over 220 countries and regions around the world. With the introduction of international video calls, customers will be able to make video calls in the same way they do for voice calls by dialing: [0046] + [010] + [(country code)] + [(area code)] + [(mobile phone number)].

With the launch of the Vodafone 702NK in December 2004, Vodafone KK began offering international video call roaming for the first time in Japan, and the service is currently available when roaming in 5 countries and regions. With the new service addition, customers can now make video calls from Japan to abroad, in addition to making video calls while overseas.
