MTN selects Dilithium's multimedia gateway solution to launch 3G video telephony services
July 31, 2005
Dilithium Networks announced that MTN, a South African mobile network operator, has selected the Dilithium DTG 2000 multimedia gateway for the delivery of multimedia and enhanced video services across their newly launched 3G network.
The DTG 2000 multimedia gateway incorporates several patent pending technologies including Dilithium Networks' Unicoding technology for fast efficient transcoding, resulting in better lip synchronization. Additional key benefits include Video Refresh for eliminating video corruption in messaging and streaming platforms, and AnswerFast Plus that reduces call setup times to under 1 second.
"MTN is the leading mobile operator in one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world. Dilithium is pleased to be selected by MTN to deliver this innovative solution and assist in the successful deployment of 3G services." said Lee Ellison, Senior VP of Global Sales and Support, Dilithium Networks. "The DTG 2000 will be a key enabling platform for MTN's converged mobile-fixed network video services."
