Chinese government support for TD-SCDMA market - report

July 13, 2006

Research and Markets has announced the addition of "China's Home Grown 3G Standard TD-SCDMA" to their offering.

This report serves as a guide to all players along the TD-SCDMA industry chain (operators, system vendors, chipset vendors, handset vendors, financial community, research institutes etc.) working to evaluate the prospects of the TD-SCDMA standard. The report answers serious questions for those who need to know and understand China's TD-SCDMA market including:

- How will licensure affect TD-SCDMA's rollout?

- What should players know about the current TD-SCDMA trials?

- How does TD-SCDMA look through 2010?

- What does the TD-SCDMA vendors investment scene look like now?

- How does TD-SCDMA compare to the other two 3G standards?

- What will affect TD-SCDMA's survival?

- What will TD-SCDMA subscriber growth become over the next 5 years?

Following arguably the longest trailing of 3G technologies prior to network deployment, the China market is now finally primed for the issuance of 3G licenses and networks to be rolled out. Among the competing standards is China's TD-SCDMA, a home grown technology that is highly supported by the government, and has been named the "first" of 3G standards for the country.
