3G Telecommunications industry meets onlinedate: June 25, 2001 - source: Delegates from across the globe to gather together via the Internet for premier 3G online conference this summer. Called 3G2001 (www.rmr-3g2001.com), the conference is being held exclusively on the Internet and delegates do not have to leave their desks or pay any fees to attend. The event, which starts on Monday 25 June 2001, has been organised by online conference pioneer RMR plc. The conference is being hosted in association with UMTS Forum, 3GPP, ETSI and LIF. 3G2001 will replicate the look and feel of a traditional conference event with numerous presentations from leading industry figures, exhibition stands, discussion forums, training areas and a media centre - but it will be held entirely on the Internet. Presentations will be based around the following areas: Security and risk management; regulation and licences; software; new technologies including alternatives to WAP and the future of wired-in systems; the economics of 3G; social impact of 3G, and how to develop high quality CRM. Delegates from anywhere in the world can attend 3G2001 free of charge and access information and exhibitions whenever is convenient for them 24/7. The event will be 'live' between Monday 25 June and Friday 6 July with up to ten new presentations being made available working day during that time. The conference website will then remain open for a further 12 months to enable delegates to refresh their minds on any of the presentations, take part in the online discussion forum or revisit a relevant exhibition stand.
