Hutchison 3G awards elata wireless Java dealdate: June 14, 2002 elata, the UK-based innovative wireless mobile software specialist, has today announced an agreement with Hutchison 3G. The contract will play an important part in the development of Hutchison 3G's next generation services. The elata senses platform will enable Hutchison 3G to intelligently target, personalise and deliver wireless Java applications (J2ME) to customers. "Wireless Java is a critical step in the creation of new services for 3G. This agreement with Hutchison 3G positions elata as the market leader for Java delivery and download, as well as offering a migration path to support advanced levels of subscriber services management across the range of feature-rich devices." said Gavin Freed, CEO of elata. Freed continued: "Hutchison 3G chose elata senses for its Service Delivery Platform because of its ability to dynamically manage and deploy applications and its ability to be customised and intelligently integrated into existing systems." Colin Tucker, managing director of Hutchison 3G said, "Our services need to be flexible and responsive in this new market. Choosing a flexible platform that will not only cater for our rollout requirements now, but can evolve and support future multimedia service developments, is crucial."
