Hi3G brings Elitserien to 3G mobilesdate: June 21, 2002 Hi3G announced their exclusive rights to send ice hockey content to 3G mobiles from Elitserien. The agreement with Svenska Hockeyligan covers both content rights as well as sponsorship of Elitserien. Through their 3G mobiles, Hi3Gs customers will be able to see, and interact on excerpts from Elitserie matches, goals, match sequences, commentaries, pictures, results, archive material, goal makers and results tables. The rights are exclusive for Hi3G for all mobile technologies including GSM and UMTS for three seasons until the end of April 2005. The details of the agreement have not been publicized. We work on putting together a tantalizing offer of mobile 3G services for our customers. Sport is definitely one of the content areas where we invest, and our customers will appreciate the closeness to their favorite teams through 3G mobiles. With ice hockey being one of Sweden’s most popular sports, connecting it to this very positive force, says Chris Bannister, CEO Hi3G, will further strengthen our future brand. For Svenska Hockeyligan it is valuable to take part in the development towards new forms of exposing high quality ice hockey. Our vision is that the 3G service offering will bring interested fans a quick and good picture of current hockey events. At the same time, we are looking forward to our sponsorship co-operation with Hi3G, says Hans Nyberg, VD Svenska Hockeyligan. This is the second exclusive sports content/sponsorship agreement for 3G mobiles, signed by Hi3G this year. On January 16th, Hi3G announced that the company reached an agreement with ISPR regarding sponsorship of Allsvenskan, Damallsvenskan, Superettan and Svenska Cupen. As part of that agreement Hi3G secured the exclusive rights to provide sports content to mobile phones and wireless devices for all the above series and for the home games of the Swedish National Teams in Football and matches in Sweden in the UEFA cup.
