![]() Radio network expansion follows earlier "go live" of Nokia system to bring 3G video services to the UK. |
Nokia has been a full systems supplier and partner to 3 from the beginning. Nokia has provided a complete 3G system, including a nationwide core network and the radio-access network for the northern half of 3's network.
"This is an important landmark for 3G deployment, not only in the UK, but around the world," says Ian McCaig, Vice President, Nokia Networks. "Coverage of robust 3G service in an advanced market like the UK clearly demonstrates the maturity and viability of WCDMA. Nokia looks forward to supporting Hutchison in extending and enhancing its 3G video and other advanced 3G services. We are delighted that Nokia's solution is making possible 3's world-leading portfolio of engaging and enriching content and services."
