SonyEricsson Z1010 arrives on Vodafone 3G service

June 26, 2004

Only a few weeks after the launch of UMTS in Europe with the Vodafone live! Samsung Z105, Vodafone has extended its range to include another UMTS mobile telephone: the SonyEricsson Z1010 "communication all-rounder" is now available at the Vodafone shops. The mobile telephone, with clamshell design and features UMTS videotelephony, also incorporates diverse functions and accessories for efficient voice and data communication, as well as multimedia fun. The SonyEricsson Z1010 costs EUR 299 in conjunction with a "Vodafone live! UMTS All-Inclusive Package?*/**".

Just like the first Vodafone UMTS mobile telephone, the SonyEricsson Z1010 is perfect for extremely convenient and simple videotelephony via UMTS. At the touch of a button, both parties can see each other and talk in hands-free mode if they are using a Vodafone UMTS mobile phone and have UMTS network coverage.

What's more, the mobile telephone incorporates many of the functions that private individuals or business users expect of an efficient communication medium: fast access to information and entertainment via the Vodafone live! portal, video and photo functions, MMS and various options for the synchronisation and shared use of data with other terminals. For example, contacts can be synchronised in a matter of seconds and large volumes of data can be transferred with the exchangeable 32MB memory card. The SonyEricsson Z1010 has both bluetooth and infrared connectivity for cable-free data transmission. Convenient scheduling and notebook functions, as well as an E-mail client, make the UMTS phone a useful mobile office. The SonyEricsson also features a media player for MP3 and video, an integrated digital camera for photographs and video clips, and an MMS function for sending photos and video clips with sound.

The SonyEricsson Z1010 is also offered by 3 in Denmark and Sweden.
