Vodafone reduces 3G data download in the Netherlands
June 29, 2004
As of 1 July 2004 Vodafone customers in the Netherlands can use their Vodafone UMTS datacard at a reduced rate of 50 Eurocent per MB. As a result of the increased data usage by its customers Vodafone introduces an extra large data bundle of 200 MB for EUR 100 a month. The usage price of the Vodafone UMTS datacard is thus reduced by 33%.
Vodafone Mobile Connect UMTS/GPRS datacard
With optimal data rates the Vodafone Mobile Connect UMTS/GPRS datacard enables customers to access their office network and all their usual applications such as e-mail and internet at up to 6 times the speed of ISDN. This will enable customers that are travelling to work with a laptop as if in the office.
Vodafone first with UMTS
On 16 February 2004 Vodafone was the first mobile operator in the Netherlands to introduce UMTS for laptop users. On 16 June 2004 Vodafone became the first in the Netherlands to offer a UMTS service for consumers. With Vodafone live! UMTS Vodafone customers can now see each other through video telephony, and enjoy live television, film trailers, music and sports clips on their mobile phone.
