Vibo aims 100,000 3G subscribers in three months

June 26, 2005

Taiwan's Vibo Telecom aims to sign up at least 100,000 subscribers within the first three months of launching its 3G service. The company recently announced that its 3G service would go live in the fourth quarter of this year.

Chairman Rock Hsu expects subscribers to increase to 1 million next year and anticipates that the company will take around two years to break even.

Vibo, a latecomer in the Taiwanese telecoms market, has enlisted the help of Motorola to build its 3G network. The network is intended initially to support three million subscribers.
