Aplix partners Quanta for 3G Java solution

June 5, 2006

Aplix Corporation announced that its JBlend Java platform has been selected by Quanta Computer as their preferred Java solution on Qualcomm's platform targeting US and European operators markets.

Aplix has a very comprehensive Java roadmap, especially with regards to advanced Java requirements from different 3G operators. With the JBlend on BREW pre-integration announcement last year, Aplix's comprehensive 3G roadmap, along with the pre-integrated version of JBlend, will bring a faster time-to-market advantage to Quanta with cutting edge Java features to meet the most complicated operators' specifications in the world.

"This is a defining moment where Quanta has turned to Aplix to maximize the Java performance on 3G for its mobile phones," said Wesley Kuo, President and CSO of Aplix Corporation. "I am pleased that we have completed a successful technical evaluation previously, and now moved to a phase of an official partner relationship."

The two companies have already initiated development projects and anticipated the first Quanta handset to debut in the market later this year.
