Ericsson to upgrade Israel's Partner with mobile softswitch

June 26, 2006

Major Israeli mobile operator Partner Communications (Partner) has selected the Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution to upgrade its network.

Ericsson's Mobile Softswitch Solution will expand Partner's network capacity, necessary for its 3G subscriber growth. It will also allow the operator to introduce high-quality services quickly. The mobile softswitch paves the way to an all-IP network.

Alon Berman, Partner's Vice President, Technologies, says: "Ericsson's leading solution will be used to converge our 2G and 3G core network. It will allow us to grow in a cost-efficient way and to introduce innovative services to a growing number of our customers."

Bjorn Eisner, President of Ericsson Israel, says: "This contract with Partner proves our technology leadership in the softswitching arena. It also strengthens our long-standing partnership and excellent relations with Partner."

Ericsson has been the main supplier of Partner since 1998 with deliveries of GSM/WCDMA networks, including HSPA.
