Telecom NZ Withdraws AAPT Unit From 3G Auction

Telecom Corp. of New Zealand Wednesday announced the withdrawal of its AAPT unit from the Australian government's auction of third generation, or 3G, spectrum, due to begin Thursday.

The company said it will continue assessing strategic opportunities for an expanded presence in the Australian mobile market, and maintained that its withdrawal from the auction doesn't contradict that intention.
