UbiNetics expands 3G market growth in Indiadate: March 15, 2002 UbiNetics has launched a recruitment drive for its Indian office, aiming to double the number of employees in India by the start of 2003. The company's branch in Bangalore has been operational for the past year and already has more than 50 full-time employees. UbiNetics is recruiting engineers with experience in 3G and GSM technologies to develop test and measurement equipment, protocol software offerings, and to create intellectual property (IP) in 2G, 2.5G and 3G. The company is looking to expand its skills base in digital signal processing (DSP), protocol software integration and validation, and man machine interface (MMI) development. "We pride ourselves on offering employees the chance to work on new and exciting technologies," said Madan Mohan, vice-president, India development centre at UbiNetics. "Being part of a smaller team gives employees a chance to be closely involved in how the business is run, as well as the opportunity to expand on their own skill sets." "When we opened the office in October 2001, we aimed to recruit a 150-strong team," said Björn Krylander, CEO at UbiNetics. "We are ramping up our recruitment activity to ensure we have the very best engineers to develop innovative solutions in this fast developing market." To help new recruits get up-to-speed with the company, individuals are seconded to UbiNetics' UK offices in Cambridge for three to six months. This allows workers to learn more about the 3G technology being developed in the UK and to feel part of the wider organisation.
