March 9, 2004

Fiberhome/WRI (Wuhan Research Institute of P&T), Hubei Province PR China, a Fiber Optic and major Broadband Telecom equipment provider, and AudioCodes, a provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and systems today announced that Fiberhome has selected AudioCodes' UMTS compliant Stretto 8000 media gateways for its complete 3G UMTS W-CDMA solution for the cellular market in China. As the result of this partnership, AudioCodes will now enter the largest 3G cellular market in the world. Both companies will cooperate in the development and certification of the 3G UMTS Release 4 cellular infrastructure solution.

Based on AudioCodes' carrier-grade, feature-rich, standard-compliant media gateways, the combined solution will offer a cost-effective, scalable and high voice quality next generation cellular network, addressing Chinese Cellular operators' requirements for open, packet-based UMTS networks, thus supporting new revenue streams from enhanced services.

"We are investing extensive development efforts in offering a UMTS solution that is optimized for the Chinese market," said Professor Tian Liren, Deputy CTO of Fiberhome Technologies Group. "In completing the evaluation and then selecting the AudioCodes media gateway, we are able to offer advanced next generation UMTS solutions that meet our customers' requirements for high channel density and proven high availability and reliability. AudioCodes has been a natural choice for us."

This relationship combines Fiberhome -- WRI 's home-grown advanced wireless Softswitch technology, together with AudioCodes media gateway expertise, evident in its Stretto line of high density converged (wireline and wireless) media gateways, optimized for the 3G UMTS specifications. Fiberhome intends to develop, integrate and market the complete UMTS network solution, leveraging its extensive experience in developing and fielding broadband telecommunication solutions for the Chinese and other world-wide markets.
