Ericsson demonstrates revision D CDMA2000 1xEV-DV at CTIA

Ericsson demonstrated implementation of CDMA2000 1xEV-DV revision D using Ericsson's commercially available CDMA2000 1X product portfolio.

The newly published CDMA2000 1xEV-DV revision D is today being demonstrated on Ericsson's commercial CDMA2000 1X infrastructure at the Ericsson booth at CTIA, Atlanta, USA. The CDMA2000 1xEV-DV Revision D demonstrations will provide data rate enhancements on both the forward and reverse link. The standard supports up to 3.1 Mbps peak rate on the forward and 1.8 Mbps on the reverse link with an average throughput four times greater than CDMA2000 1X on the forward link and two times greater on the reverse link.

CDMA2000 1xEV-DV supports concurrent voice and data on a single 1.25 MHz carrier and offers improved flexibility for the operators to manage data and voice services cost-efficiently. CDMA2000 1xEV-DV allows for more efficient utilization of radio resources and is fully backward compatible with 1X networks.

In addition to Ericsson's CDMA2000 1xEV-DV revision D demonstrations, Ericsson has also entered into a revision D agreement for technology and infrastructure product development. This will provide Ericsson with early visibility to the revision D features of the Qualcomm CSM6700 solution to accelerate their commercialization of CDMA2000 1xEV-DV.
