March 15, 2005

3G operator Svenska UMTS-Nät AB, the joint venture between Tele2 and TeliaSonera, has awarded Ericsson a new three-year frame agreement for the delivery of core and radio access network. Under the agreement, Ericsson will continue to secure multi-vendor network integration between the shared 3G network and the respective 2G networks of Tele2 and TeliaSonera.

Through Svenska UMTS-Nät AB, operators TeliaSonera and Tele2 have the first and one of the absolute largest shared 3G network in the global telecommunications industry.

"We are very proud for the continued trust that Svenska UMTS-Nät shows us by entering this new agreement and we look forward to continue developing their business together with them", said Steinar Tveit, Head of Market Unit Nordic and Baltics at Ericsson. "We have today gained great experience with both shared and multi-vendor networks and our solutions are effectively adapted to the needs of our customers".
