Anritsu 3G test system certified by GCF
March 21, 2005
The ME7873A W-CDMA TRX/Performance Test System and ME7874A W-CDMA RRM Test System -- Anritsu's W-CDMA 3G mobile terminal conformance test(a) systems -- have been certified by the GCF (Global Certification Forum) to provide all RF (Radio Frequency) / RRM (Radio Resource Management) conformance tests required (as of January 20, 2005).
The GCF's W-CDMA Conformance Test (Release 99) determines accomplishment standards(b) of test cases in four fields of RF/RRM, Protocol, Acoustic and USIM. In the GCF meeting held in January, it was confirmed that these standards were accomplished for the first time.
In this meeting, since it was approved that Anritsu's ME7873A and ME7874A systems for the first time can provide test cases that GCF requires in RF/RRM fields -- base for 3G mobile terminal performance like international roaming service, they made a significant contribution to the commencement of mobile terminal certification. Thereby, mobile terminals tested by these systems in the organ that is accredited as 3G test laboratory are certified to conform to 3GPP specifications upon application of test results to GCF.
Anritsu will continue to obtain certification for 3GPP specifications (renewable every three months), acquire GCF certifications in RF/RRM and protocol tests, and make a contribution to global progress in W-CDMA 3G mobile terminal services.
(a) W-CDMA 3G mobile terminal conformance test
Test to confirm that a mobile terminal conforms to the specifications determined by 3GPP, standardization project for third-generation mobile terminal systems.
(b) Accomplishment standard
To accomplish 80% certification out of the whole "GCF Work Item 010 (WI-010)" test cases determined by GCF.
