Partner grabs 20,000 3G users
March 28, 2005
Israel's Partner Communications said it has 20,000 3G subscribers since it launched the high-speed mobile phone service three and a half month ago. Partner VP marketing and content Iris Beck also unveiled the company's strategy for its obox live 3G portal in response to the planned launch of Cellcom's i-mode content platform, scheduled for four months from now.
Beck said 3G subscribers had already downloaded 100,000 music items, and were accounting for 78% of total content use on Partner's network.
Beck added that the proportion of 3G subscribers using obox live was 70%. "Today, data traffic from 3G users has greatly increased data traffic on the network," she said.
