Convergys supports SmarTone's 3G service

March 29, 2005

Convergys Corporation, a provider of customer care, human resources, and billing services, announced its Infinys Rating and Billing software has "gone live" for Hong Kong mobile network operator, SmarTone. Convergys worked with LogicaCMG to complete the implementation of Infinys, which is supporting the rollout of SmarTone's 3G enabled service offerings.

SmarTone's 3G enabled service offerings include live TV news, full song downloads, real-time, multi-player online games, and video calls.

"We are impressed by Infinys' comprehensive and highly configurable functions and features, which help us in rapid implementation of the software. The rich set of application program interfaces Infinys offers helps the software to integrate well with SmarTone's operation environment. Infinys' ease of integration has enabled SmarTone to quickly bring our 3G enabled service offerings to the market," said Stephen Chau, Chief Technology Officer of SmarTone. "In addition, the billing and rating flexibility of Infinys enables SmarTone to creatively offer a suite of differentiated data and multimedia service."

"With Infinys, SmarTone has the billing and rating flexibility necessary to stay ahead of its competition by being able to offer its customers the newest and most creative mobile content services," said Steve Robertson, President, Convergys' Information Management Group, International.
