Nokia, teams up to develop games on 3G handsetsdate: May 18, 2001 Nokia announced the team up with Kufi Entertainment and Rage Software to deliver simple games to the next generation mobile phones. The games will be running on the EPOC operating system created by Psion, installed in Nokia's future 3G handsets. As voice traffic is not enough to cover the huge 3G licences, most mobile makers believe live streaming video and games will create extra revenues in the future for operators to recoup their investments. In Japan, over 50% of all traffics in I-mode are from entertainment uses that proved to be very successful. 3G handsets will enable game developers to deliver popular games such as Pokemon and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in colour mode and multi-player games over wireless network.
