NCC and Tele2 establish cooperation regarding infrastructure build-out for 3Gdate: May 18, 2001 - source: NCC NCC has signed an agreement with Tele2 regarding an early phase of 3G build-out in Sweden. "We view this as an initial indication that NCC¹s decision to focus on the telecommunications sector was correct. We are confident that NCC Telecom will show strong growth in the years ahead," says Jan Sjöqvist, President and Chief Executive Officer of NCC. NCC has already started work on the order from Tele2, which includes responsibility for project management, project planning and construction of infrastructure. "This is an important assignment for NCC, in view of our ambition to become a leading builder of infrastructure for 3G networks. The assignment marks a further step in NCC¹s long-standing and excellent cooperation with Tele2," says Maged Saleh, Business Unit Manager at NCC Telecom Sweden. NCC has been active in the telecom sector for more than ten years. In order to satisfy increased demand for the construction and maintenance of mobile base stations and broadband facilities, the operations were concentrated in a separate business area effective October 1, 2000. The business area¹s vision is to become the leading supplier of telecommunication infrastructure in the Nordic region. NCC Telecom conducts operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, as well as in such countries as Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
