Argentine expects to auction 3G licenses in October

Henoch Aguiar, Communications Secretary for Argentine said on Friday, the government expects to hold the 3G license auction this October and to receive a merely total of between $500million to $600million from the sales.

The government hopes to rise $800 million, he said, but after reassuring current poor sales of 3G licenses around the globe recently and the economy recession (in Argentina), the figure between $500 million to $600million is a more realistic goal.

Analysis expects four licenses be on offered, with 2 licenses going to home operators Telecom Argentina and Telinfor S.A.; and two sold to foreign operators.
