DT blamed for not co-operating in 3G roll-outdate: May 22, 2001 Deutsche Telekom came under heavy attacked on Monday during a press conference from rival German 3G license winners for refusal to co-operate and sharing the cost of rolling-out 3G networks in Germany. Following a press release last week by Ron Sommer (Chief executive of Deutsche Telekom), he was blamed by Gerhard Schmid (Chairman of MobilCom) yesterday for wasting shareholders money in not co-operating in the 3G networks roll-out. MobilCom was talking with all the four other 3G license winners (Mannesmann, Viag Interkom, Group 3G) in setting up conditions on how to reduce network building cost for all license winners. The 3G auction in Germany was the most expensive to date, which raised $37billion for the Germany government.
