Swedia Networks to connect 3G operators' base stationsdate: May 15, 2002 Swedish turnkey telecomms networks supplier Swedia Networks has won a contract from Skanova, a subsidiary of Swedish telecomms group Telia. Skanova has selected Swedia Networks to connect UMTS base stations in central regions of Sweden, including the Stockholm area, and in northern Sweden. The contract covers all the agreements Skanova has with other third generation wireless telephony operators in the country. Under the agreement, which runs until the end of the year, Swedia Networks will connect the base stations via radio links, LMDS, copper cable/ADSL and fibre cable. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
