Anite Telecoms to strengthen 3G leadership position by releasing more than 500 3GPP testsdate: May 27, 2002 Strengthening its position in the 3G wireless development and conformance test market, Anite Telecoms has signed an agreement to license more than 500 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) test cases from Sasken Communication Technologies, the telecoms services and solutions provider. Anite is the only company capable of providing 3G development and conformance test systems with proven 3GPP test cases. "Our market leading solutions will enable customers to realise up to a 50% reduction in their time-to-market for developing 3G devices." comments Anite Telecoms' director, Daniel Oosthuizen. "Integrating Sasken's test cases on our 3G platforms will reduce development costs significantly and provide complete assurance of conformance." Anite expects to release initial batches to customers in July this year following delivery of an initial 500 test cases. They will immediately run on its U-HT host test solution for 3G protocol stacks and roll out across its U-SAT 3G signaling and protocol test platform. The Sasken 3GPP tests - which include the vast majority of the 600 test scripts defined by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and 3GPP - adds Prabhas Kumar, vice president at Sasken's Networks Division, "form the most comprehensive 3GPP test suite currently available". Oosthuizen stresses the advantages for Anite's customers. "Users will benefit from the largest available range of 3G test cases proven against a protocol stack and independently assessed on a third party platform."
