3G World Congress move to Bangkok due to killer virus SARS
May 13, 2003
Institute for International Research has formally announce the rescheduling
and location of the annual 3G World Congress, originally planned for Hong
Kong next month, will move to Bangkok, Thailand from 3 - 7 November, 2003.
Looking ahead to November, IIR plans call for a full week of activities.
The conference and exhibition will be held Wednesday to Friday, 5
7 November at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. Master classes,
developer forums, pre-registration cocktails and other social functions
will be held at the headquarters hotel to be announced shortly. Over the
next few weeks IIR will be working to reconfirm speakers and finalize
logistical arrangements including booth selection, hotels and additional
marketing campaigns.
IIR decision to move to Bangkok was due to concerns about the deadly
killer virus, SARS, was based on discussion with their sponsors and supporting
organizations. There was an overwhelming consensus to re-schedule and
move to a location that would be comfortable for everyone to visit.
