Samsung Developes high-speed mobile DDR SD RAM

Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday the development of 256 MB high-speed mobile DDR SD RAM improving the performance of the existing mobile SD RAM more than 300%.

The ultra-small Mobile DDR consuming low power will be used as primary memory and secondary memory for advanced mobile device.

This new product makes high-resolution video and three-dimensional game on mobile devices possible.

Samsung Electronics plans a mass production beginning this July. The sales goal is to make it more than 50% of the mobile D RAM market.

The third-generation handset requiring high-speed mobile memory expects to grow explosively in the future, where the sales of 10 million units in 2003 will jump to 36 million units this year and 280 million units in 2008.
