Samsung, LG Unveil World’s 1st Satellite-based DMB Phone

The handset for satellite DMB is unveiled to the public for the first time.
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics introduce the handset for satellite-based DMB service at the Expo comm Wireless Korea 2004 held in Seoul between May 22 and May 24.
Satellite DMB phone(model name: SCH-B100) introduced by Samsung Electronics is CDMA2000 1x EV-DO model embedded with 2 mega-pixel camera, and it plays VOD and records satellite broadcasting. Samsung Electronics plans to hold an event to officially demonstrate its performance with TU Media, satellite DMB service provider.
LG Electronics shows satellite digital wide TV phone(model name: SB100) with ultra-wide screen providing top-quality image during movement and high-resolution video
Samsung Electronics shows new handsets including "world phone" functioning anywhere in the world, 3G UMTS phone, wide-screen camera phone adopting QVGA LCD and 2 mega-pixel camera phone. Handsets for entertainment such as bar-type camera phone, MP3 phone, 3D game phone were also displayed.
LG Electronics introduces the first MP3 phone in Korea and PDA phone embedded with mega-pixel camera. About 40 new handsets including "ZIP phone(model name: LG-SV9140)" providing the compression 30 to 50% higher than the existing technology, diabetics phone(model name: LG-KP8400) supporting the measurement of the sugar level in blood, exercise management, diet management, and mediation management.
