Ericsson selected by Bellwave for second generation 3G platform

Ericsson and Bellwave have signed a license agreement for U250, which is the latest WCDMA/GPRS platform from Ericsson Mobile Platforms. With the agreement, Bellwave and Ericsson extend their cooperation of combining Ericsson's WCDMA/GPRS platform technology and Bellwave's innovative and feature rich products.

"The new platform provides advanced multimedia application enablers such as support for multi-megapixel cameras, advanced network signaling features required by operators, a very compact size and lower power consumption."
"The U250 is a new generation of WCDMA/GPRS platforms that combines the field proven stability of the U100 and advances in integration to provide a small, low power and very powerful multimedia enabled platform. We are happy that Bellwave has selected this platform," said Sandeep Chennakeshu, head of Ericsson Mobile Platforms.
Ericsson Mobile Platforms' 3G-platform U250 is a highly integrated small footprint WCDMA/GPRS platform offering upgraded network signaling protocols required for the growing WCDMA networks, advanced multimedia capabilities including the ability to directly interface to multi-megapixel cameras, provide advanced audio and video capabilities, 3D graphics and support a wide variety of mass storage memories.
