Three UK (H3G) rumoured to terminate contract with TTI
November 14, 2002
Team Telecom International (TTI) announced today that it has received
a letter of termination from one of its major customer. The Israeli
firm, which provides network management systems, relies on a small
number of customers and the announcement will be a big blow for
TTI, worth a few million dollars.
Sources believe the letter came from Three of UK, whose parent
company Hutchison, is considered as one of TTI's most important
client. Hutchison subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Australia have contracts
with TTI, but the latest announcement is not expected to affect
them.
TTI will investigate claims made by the customer and take suitable
actions after they have consulted with legal advisors. The firm
insists it has performed its contractual obligations to the customer
and acted appropriately in its operation.
In TTI's third quarter 2002 earnings report, released on Tuesday,
it hinted doubts over the viability of one of the deals. TTI CEO
Meir Lipshes said in the report, "Our weaker-than-expected performance
for the third quarter was due primarily to information developed
over the past few days that has raised concerns regarding the continuity
of a customer implementation."
