Comarco expands test license with Qualcomm
November 14, 2002
Comarco today announced that it has expanded its test equipment
license agreement with Qualcomm to cover WCDMA and CDMA2000 3G technologies
for wireless test equipment applications. With the license expansion,
Comarco is now licensed by Qualcomm to manufacture and sell test
equipment for the complete range of CDMA technologies deployed throughout
the world including IS-95, CDMA2000 1X, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, and WCDMA.
The Qualcomm license expansion is a fundamental element of Comarco's
new XPort product development roadmap. XPort is a cutting edge wireless
system test tool platform that allows full adaptability and flexibility
for any optimization, benchmarking, in-building or in-vehicle testing
application. XPort will support test capabilities for all WCDMA
and CDMA2000 technologies, as well as all 2G or 2.5G technologies
deployed anywhere in the world.
"Our expanded license positions us well to take advantage of 3G
network deployments underway around the world," said Comarco President
and CEO Tom Franza. "This timely license agreement with Qualcomm
along with our XPort test platform strategy, should offer Comarco
significant competitive advantages in the drive test equipment marketplace."
