Vodafone offers 3G roaming
November 19, 2002
Hungarian 3G operator Vodafone (VRAM) announced that consumers
can now use the world's first third generation mobile phone roaming
network.
Marketing director of Vodafone Graeme Millar said that under an
agreement with J-Phone of Japan (also an affiliate of Vodafone),
Hungarians visiting Japan will be able to use the Japanese network
while maintaining their own Hungarian Vodafone SIM card and call
number.
Third generation roaming is currently limited to the Japanese capital
but intensive work has been going on to expand this.
